I don't know that this phase is necessarily more 'hollywood compatible' than his past stuff -- part of the reason he cranks this shit out so fast is that everything is basically written like a storyboard, with a handful of decompressed 'widescreen' panels a page and lots of splash pages and stuff

Anyway he's not my favorite creator by any stretch of the imagination, I've liked maybe one or two things he's ever done, but it's hard to fuck too much with the fact that he seems like he's legitimately interested in trying new things and constantly changing it up

I guess overall I like this phase better, even when it gets offensively treacly and sentimental it doesn't get as actively stupid and unreadable as the works where he's going out of his way to be edgy

I've seen his latest books attract actual praise from /co/ so I decided to read Chrononauts and it was fucking shit. Didn't even feel like writing, Character A Says Thing And Moves To Spot F everywhere.

Are you guys actually that dumb everything dark is automatically bad and everything feelgood is automatically just good? It's the same trash it was when he called it Nemesis or Wanted. What a waste of good art.

Fuck him. Quitely, Albuquerque, Jae Lee, Sprouse, Fegredo, Sean Murphy...these guys aren't terribly fast and the months they could be working on something good they're instead working on Millar garbage. This hack is ruining the industry.

I loved chrononauts, the artwork was awesome, the chase through time was sick, wish it could've gone a bit longer with them exploring the characters more. Besides that, I wouldn't say it's shit. And if he's not going edgy anymore, then maybe he's not in that space creatively anymore. Also, good to note, all the books that we're turned into movies were edgy, kingsman kickass wanted.

Yeah, he's pretty much said that he was really into trying to be edgy because that's where he was in terms of mind set but after Image and relaunching his brand he feels like cuting back and just making superheroic stories.

I am a huge Millar fan. Part of me thinks it is helpful that he is keeping these stories on the short and simple side.

There have been some great, long comic runs, but me? For the most part I don't look at comics and say "oh this should've been longer." I look at them and say "you could've done it 2 issues instead of 3."

He's doing nice, well edited, get in get out stories. Great ideas, he doesn't over do it trying to be pretentious or anything. I'm a big fan.

I think that maybe MPH could have used another issue, but I agree for the most part.
He's really hit this stride of doing basic genre stories that are really easy to consume and not to fretted about.

The weakest was Chrononauts by far, but other than that it's a smooth ride
