Is 2d really destined to die? While I don't hate either that or cg, I doubt that it will have the same fate as silent films. Especially since cg seems to have gotten close to, if not reached, its peak potential. One thing I notice is how hard it is to animate water and liquids in it, not to mention hair. Normal shows aren't going to have the Disney-tier budgets to be able to animate all those properly.
