God I wish they would have The Emperor's Daughter be the secret above it all Villain of the new trilogy and have her be played by Antje Traue.
So at the end of the 3rd film it comes down to Daisy with a 2 bladed Staff Lightsaber vs Traue with a Saber that is kind of a mix of the Dooku and Palpatine designs.

Id really like to see a comic series or novel maybe not cannon but as a What If kinda story as One of the Emperor's Aids who was suppose to activate a cloning protocol in the event of his death, instead is disillusioned with Palpatine and instead Clones Count Dooku thinking of his genuine wish for a uncorrupted utopia instead of Palpatine's irrational must rule it ALL mindset.
And Dooku when returned actually sets out to aid the New Republic as he thinks he can make it into what the republic should have been during his time.

Sheev is absolutely beyond just about everyone else, to the point that he really doesn't need to take out the saber for anyone who isn't literally Mace or Yoda.

It's a WoW clone with a focus on "story", but the writing is so cringeworthy and terrible and the lore so shitty that that not even the old EU allowed to it be part of their canon. Fun if you like grinding and want some Star Wars in a pinch though I suppose.

1) It didn't force anything, Lucasfilm had the choice to run both at once and decided against it.

2) Galaxies really wasn't that good. Pre-NGE, it was all macros and hologrinding, and the player-driven economy rapidly turned into EVE Online with less spaceships. Post-NGE, it was just confused shit that had no idea what it wanted to be, and never really got a strong sense of identity.

This is too far. The prequels were one thing. Jar Jar at least had the decency to not appear much after Shiton Meanshit. But this ruins an iconic scene. Perhaps the most iconic scene of all time. The first face to face duel between Vader and Luke. The father and son meeting that changed not just cinema, but American popular culture as a whole.

I will now be not only Boycotting Jar Jar Abram's Episode Shitven, but anything Star Wars released after 2014.

I might say I'm shocked that they'd do this, but I'm not. It's Disney. Of course they'd find a way to ruin the OT. Empire has been retroactively made unwatchable for me. So thank you, Didney. I have now lost something of great importance to my life because of you.

I now know how persecution feels. To have everything you believe in torn down in front of you.

I'm being competely serious, is there anyway I can sue Disney for mental anguish? Because I slowly feel as if I'm about to lose it and it's their fault. Do I have a case?

In Empire Strikes Back, the audience has no idea that it's a father-son confrontation until the very end of the duel. Until then, it's "now that I'm half-trained instead of almost completely untrained, I'm gonna fight the bad guy, and oh no this was a terrible idea".

This is a smaller confrontation before then, where neither one really knows anything about the other that isn't totally superficial. This is"oh shit I accidentally ran into the bad guy I'm not ready for this but I gotta fight or die".

It's also interesting to note that in Empire, Luke doesn't seem to mention anything about Vader killing Obi-Wan. I guess after three years you get over it, but you'd think he'd at least be like "YOU KILLED HIM YOU BASTARD" or something. But he doesn't. This earlier duel lets him get it out of his system.

Also, Splinter of the Mind's Eye ends with a climactic battle between Luke, Leia, and Vader too. The old EU wasn't shy about letting Luke and Vader run into each other -- especially in the old classic Marvel comics.

Honestly the twist is really overplayed at this point. Number one, it's been over three and a half decades and as such is basically irrelevant at this point since Star Wars is so ingrained into pop culture.

Number two, plot twists are for the weak anyway. Not that they don't have their place, but the over-reliance on keeping things a surprise has a harmful effect on storytelling if you ask me. It has encouraged people to view stories, film or otherwise, as disposable. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing about how "x movie isn't worth seeing since they spoiled X," as if a movie's sole merit lies in its initial viewing.

Lost Stars has been praised by a lot people.

Aftermath pretty much got raked over the coals for terrible prose and the author resorted to calling everything homophobes to hide the fact that all the reviews agreed his writing was terrible. Last I looked there was only one review out of hundreds that hated it because of the gay characters.

I've only read both as far new canon is concerned.

Aftermath sucks compared to Lost Stars, but Lost Stars doesn't add much to main storyline, its just a love story that takes place on the background of the OT. But, it is very well written.

Lost stars has very few redeemable qualities. Didn't like it.

Eh I just feel like there's a missing link there that makes it kinda weak.

With Obi-Wan there was always a little tension at times and towards the end of Episode III he was getting paranoid and mistrusting of Obi-Wan.

But despite leaving on a sad note there was never any harshness between Ahsoka and Anakin. We never got to see that bitterness and resentment.

So this idea that he just fucking despises Ahsoka feels like it comes out of nowhere. And going by when he felt her in Rebels it really didn't seem like he was angry. He seemed more curious than anything.

Lost Stars is the best so far. Really, all of the Journey to the Force Awakens stuff is pretty solid, despite the writing style of Aftermath. The three character books are a blast, even if they're for young readers.

If you liked LotS, you'll probably like most of them, because I actually thought it was one of the weaker ones. Heir to the Jedi is a fun adventure, though some people have an issue with the first person narration. A New Dawn is great, especially if you like Kanan and Hera.

Watch the Utapau Arc, they go in depth at Ahskoa's departure and Anakin's subsequent feelings about that.

You can, but you don't have to. The only one that's related to Rebels is A New Dawn, which takes place before the show starts, but you can read it whenever, as it's not really plot-related.

The YA Servents of the Empire series (4 books) spins out of an episode of Rebels, so it's probably better to watch at least up to that point before reading them.

I never watched the series and read the first Servents of the Empire book. It seems to be completely standalone. Maybe the later ones tie in more with the book, but the first one can certainly be read by itself without missing a single bit.

IIRC book 2 is when the episode Zare appears in takes place, so that's when the books start connecting and partially crossing over with the series.

I don't think book 3 connects much with the show, but book 4 definitely brings up major plot elements from the end of the season.

He really is delightful. I really enjoyed the performance of the actor that played him in the prequels; he was so hammy yet so earnest in his hamminess that I just end up smiling watching him. Especially the scene where he's at the opera with Anakin.

I remember Liam Neeson and Ewan Mcgregor ragging on their experience filming TPM pretty hard shortly after it released, and their grievance mostly seemed to be with George's direction, or lack thereof.

Actually, that's completely true. There are books and movies and songs that aren't particularly well crafted, but are still enjoyable. And if it's enjoyable, I'd say that qualifies as good.

For instance, The Martian. A lot of people, myself included, think it's a great story and a fun read. The prose isn't particularly great and the characters are just okay, but I'd still call it a good book. Is it great literature? No, but so what.

The Infinities comics are neat in the sense that they show some interesting "what if" scenarios but they're not particularly great on their own.

It's sort of like The Star Wars based on Lucas's earlier drafts, it's interesting in its concept but as a story it's not very good.

I made the pic originally.
Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee were all best buds back in their movie days from the 70's and back to the 40's. Well Lee joined a bit after, but still. They were good friends.
Now, why did I put that trio above a burning Hollywood Hills?
Because when horror movies became more sexualised, the suave gentleman villain got fucked over. Peter had to do a rape scene as Dr Frankenstein and it was his most hated iteration of the role he had to play. The actress wasn't much better off, but they became decent friends, united in their hate for that movie. I thought it'd be nice to see the three late friends delighting in Hollywood getting a bite of its just-desserts after shit like that happening to them and others.

Honestly, he took himself a little too seriously. I think part of what helped Cushing appreciate the movie was that he was already used to being in genre movies that weren't exactly high art but were entertaining. I think that gave him a better appreciation for the kind of movie Star Wars was, whereas Guinness was more used to genuine dramatic roles and being in a movie that he probably saw as cheap trash (and later being widely recognized for being in it) didn't sit right with him.

Took some better pictures of my LEGO sets.

First is Kylo's ship. Folding the wings in and out is satisfying as fuck. This one had the most pieces so far. 1005. Felt like it went quick though.

Final Duel at the end of RotJ. Not as flashy and iconic as the other two look but there's a lot of cool traps and little things. Had to get it for Luke, Sheev and Vader all in one though.

Poe's X-Wing. Like the Stormtroopers the new X-Wing design is 10/10 imo. Love the half circle split on the wings. Plus it's always nice to ditch the drab grey and have some flash like the Naboo Starfighters.

Jek-14 was the one part I didn't like. It felt really weird having this serious character as the centerpiece for these really silly shorts. I also don't like Yoda himself much, it seems like they're trying too hard to make him funny and it feels unnatural and weird.

Yeah I mainly got it for Kylo and the fact that it came with a Stormtrooper Officer and General Hux was icing on the cake. AND three more minifigs on top of that.

Right now I'm torn because I want more iconic things like the AT-AT but minifig wise I want Rey and the Rebels. To get all the Rebels I'd need like three different sets though as the Ghost only comes with Hera, Zeb, Kanan and Chopper.

Not him but I've worked at multiple retail stores. Damaged or lost property is literally an afterthought. There's such a ridiculous amount of stuff that gets damaged, opened, lost or stolen. The amount of acceptable losses is huge.

Do people actually still believe this? These stores lose thousands of dollars in merchandise regularly. They do not take it out of an employee's paycheck you dumbass.

Employee theft is actually a huge thing and most retail stores won't even bother prosecuting. I've workd at Target and a clothing store and both of them tell you not to bother following someone you think or even know has stolen something. If Loss Prevention sees it they might do something but even then they're not supposed to actually stop of follow them unless they physically saw them put something in their purse.

The amount of shrinkage big retailers like Walmart face is less than 1% of their yearly profits. They are not punishing their employees, anon.

Reminds me of a forum I stumbled upon once. It was like a gathering of thieves. They had their own code they lived by and everything. Chief among those was that they never stole from the little man. No Mom & Pops shops or individual people. Only took from "the man." Had a bunch of terms and tips. People who previously used to work these stores or security guards, loss prevention, etc would post there and provide info. Had tips on which stores had false cameras what the actual loss prevention policies were. And of course methods.

One of the craziest methods I had seen was getting a big bag of dog food and cutting a slit in it and stuffing things you want to steal in the dog food. Another one for smaller items was having a big gulp or some shit and dropping small items into the cup and putting the lid back on.

Would never have the balls to participate in something like that myself but it was pretty nuts seeing a place like that existed like a community. Was like a damn Mos Eisley message board.

Obi-Wan's droid, R4-P17, actually was legit just a head in Ep II. Astro droids were permanently linked to the early Jedi Starfighters. She got a full body later on.

Poor girl didn't deserve to die though. I remember seeing Ep III in theaters and legit being disappointment that she died. Especially within the first 5 or so minutes of the movie.

Na I feel that. It's not as easy meeting people as the media makes it seem. If I hadn't gotten my current job I'd still have no friends. It's difficult because the typical spots are like clubs and bars but you're not going to find a REAL girl who shares your interests at those spots.

Na never really had to deal with it myself too bad. I know that shit fucks people up though. I can't say if it was me and my friends fault but one of the kids we bullied ended up bringing a knife to school in High School and got expelled and another ended up institutionalized for a while. Always felt really guilty once I was old enough to realize what a cock I had been. But you don't realize that shit when you're trying to fit in. I like to think I've changed a lot and hope the people I fucked with turned out okay.
