In S1 he was a deliberate douche, coming in to sit between PC and Bojack while they were breaking up saying "Would THIS be awkward?". Then he constantly walks away from Bojack while he's talking to him. The biggest offense is when Bojack was going to tell PB how depressed he is and he Mr. PB walks off like it's nothing.
Then in S2 we see Mr. PB try and fail to be Bojack's friend and claim that he always wanted to be. I like the change because it makes sense if you consider that Mr. Peanutbutter didn't copy the show but loves it because Bojack is his idol. Still, I wish they could have made that the idea from the start.
