I don't think they're really all that similar but it's a good starting point. The show is kind of its own thing (and does have tie-in comics that are allegedly decent but I haven't read them personally).

Yeah Barry in the New 52 run under Manapul and Buccellato is quite a bit different from the Flash TV series Barry. It's still a really good comic series though, with absolutely GOD TIER artwork.

I heard good things about Snyder's Swamp Thing run and the Animal Man series that ran alongside it. I liked the first arc of Snyder's Batman run, The Court of Owls. Forever Evil is great.

Lemire's Animal Man has its ups and downs, but is definitely worth reading.

Snyder's Swamp Thing is top fucking notch, and I enjoyed it better than his Batman work.
