The reason there has never been a good live-action adaptation of The Fantastic Four is because The Fantastic Four are lame.
Being a stretchy guy isn't particularly cool.
Turning invisible isn't particularly cool.
Being made out of rocks is kind of cool but Ben is consistently written as a depressed "Oh woe is me what a monster I am" goober.
Being on fire and flying is pretty cool.
That's barely 50% of the team that's interesting, not to mention their arch nemesis is a character who just doesn't translate to the world of film.
