Say what you will about DC, but they've at least tried to keep Vertigo going in one way or another since it launched. Even where Berger left and they could have closed up shop they kept it going, put the Wildstorm stuff like Ex Machina and Global Frequency under the imprint, and this year they decided to launch 12 new books (only about four of them are ongoings, but still).
Marvel tried Icon, saw that it was difficult, and gave the hell up.
