When South Park first came on, Sheila was the show's representation of political correctness. Parker and Stone hated PC, and we've seen her followers do things from mass suicide, starting a war and bringing about he apocalypse, all in the name of telling us all how "evil" SJWs are and how they shouldn't be trusted. After BLU, they've mostly left the PC movement alone, but this season, with the coming of PC Principal, who intimidates anyone even the least bit non-PC and beat an 8-year-old to a pulp, it seems they're falling back into old habits. Why now?

My guess is that it was because of the rise of great changes in America and a new generation of SJWs on the Internet who, unlike other forms of PC, are actually being embraced and accepted by the public. Parker and Stone, who always have a beef with PC, felt that now was the time to give the movement a good butt-kicking again to remind the masses what assholes they're supporting.
