What do think of John K's new Simpsons couch gag? He worked on it for over a year apparently.

Why has john k's stuff degraded so much over the years?

stuff like this and the miley cyrus toons he did are just so loose and rubbery looking, no weight or form to it.

He's crawling up his own asshole for warm and protection. Lots of creative types do this, see Frank Miller, John Romita Jr.

He's reached a comfy point with his art where he has to expend minimal effort as long as it's reminiscent of his "style".

It shocked me to see that DK2 came out after Sin City. The art looks so much more unskilled.

To answer OP's question. I hate his art, absolutely HATE it. It's so ugly, but in such a bad way. There are artists that can do gritty unappealing art like Bakshi and the guy who made Ripple, but it's good art, and I hate the John gets lumped in with them.

A lot of people get so caught up in their own theories and principles that they stop using their basic instincts when trying to make something good. John probably draws like that because he feels like he has to.

How big is that drawing?

If it's a full page spread then yeah that' pretty bad. It looks like it should be a single panel in a 6 panel page. I do like his art actually. I think it has good movement to it, but you can tell when he's just not feeling it. I hate his art on Kick Ass.
