I always hated that fucking trope of 'character is an emotionless monotone robot with no social skills'. It's never funny. I found the interactions with Bolin to be kind of offensively unfunny. If it was a man abusing a woman that shit wouldn't be on TV.

I hated them. And I even liked the Legend of Korra.

Simple: Seasons 3 and 4 didn't involve the Water Tribe just like how after the "Siege of the North", you never heard about what the North Tribe was doing in TLA. You don't need to force them into everything.

Because realistically they would have been even worse tyrants than the Earth Queen and Korra would have had to depose them. But that would mean giving up their status as HILARIOUS comic relief, and Bryke couldn't have that happen.
