Grant Alexander from Pixar did a few drawings in this summer's art of kill la kill book (which is only released as a comiket doujin). Seemed like no surprise because several key trigger guys are big fans of western stuff (Imaishi regularly draws transformers animated fanart in his doujins) and Grant has visited them a few times but now we know what those visits were for. Here's a Buzz that Grant got from Yoshinari (mecha designer on Gurren Lagann and Eva and director of Little Witch Academia).

Same problem I have with other works from the same studio. I love the super-stylized, action packed character design and general look, but the animation is quite cheap and terrible.

Still liked it though.
