Now that the pic has your attention, why does /co/ have such a hard on for this movie?

While back /co/ kept saying Balto is a cult classic, but saw it and thought it was somewhat mehish. Oh it's watchable and it has decent animation, but it felt decent at best. It felt like an inferior version of Beauty & the Beast.

Balto - Beast
Jenna - Belle
Steele - Gaston

The characters felt incomplete. Like none reached their full potential. Balto is too passive a protagonist, Jenna's role diminished once she returned to town after the bear attack, and Steele never quite rose high enough on the villain scale (plus he surviving was unsatisfying).

Characters like Muk & Luk were abominations and Boris while decent seemed to be stuck mostly on being angry/frustrated to the point his fatherly role to Balto is easy to ignore.
