What's your opinion about Skeletor's origin form He-Man 2004? I think idea that Skeletor has floating skull as a head is retarded. I actually didn't remember that untill now when I watched this

How is it that his origin from the much cheesier show from the 80's was a lot less stupid.
I mean, they didn't explain his skull face, but really there's no reason to.

It was explained in the She-Ra pilot film.
He was Hordak's apprentice back in another dimension, they came to Eternia to invade and it goes poorly. Hordak leaves Skeletor behind when he escapes to his home dimension, and Skeletor decides that he'll take over Eternia without his former Master.

The toy comics implied the Keldor/He-man's uncle origin. A lot of the 2k2 show concepts expanded on those minicomics. The original toyline ended before the story could be concluded.
