>>76971773Hi. I assume you're young not out of attempting to insult you, but rather that you don't grasp how comedy and tragedy are two sides of a coin.
Comedy is derived by pleasure and a sense of comfort, while tragedy is like getting the rug pulled out from beneath you.
I'm feeling great. I'm here with all my friends and OH GOD THEYRE DEAD.
Cartoon writing is a tricky thing because 9/10ths of the material being produced is for those around the ages of 5-15.
They're aware that a lot of people have grown with toons and like putting little bits in for older audiences, but since the main demographic is younger folk, they can't put too many advanced themes in.
For that matter, you can't make a show overly sad either, because being depressed all the time wont contribute to viewership.
What Steven and AT are attempting to preform is a series of bait-and-hook's with the audience to keep them viewing the show.
Which is fine because when this is well written its fairly entertaining.
