>>76984725The scene is heavy but I don't think it ever bothered me. I'm not sure if it's meant to be funny. But I think one of the more interesting aspects of Rick and Morty is that in a very silly show with crazy adventures have a lot of actual heavy moments that influence the characters.
This for Morty is a big one, as well as when he frees Fart and he ends up killing him. He's entirely torn because his actions killed many many people and it ends up being for nothing anyway.
If I wasn't super lazy right now I'd mention more scenes but really the show is full of intense character moments where tragic stuff happens.
Summer almost runs away because she finds out why her parents had her, her mom wanted to abort her. She wasn't going to maybe run away like teens do cause theyre rebelling, she had a pretty serious crisis because she found out she was unwanted. Maybe not as tragic as almost being raped, but hearing that at any age would be pretty fucked to find out.
