Which is the best one /co/? Which is the worst?

Man of Steel and birthright are tied for me, which is why I hate that secret origins became the canon for post crisis supes

While the other two might be more solid origins/stories - Secret Origins in my favorite.
It's really just a series of vignettes and the second half doesn't really connect well - but the Superboy segments are great.

Especially the scene where Clark finds out he's an alien

Man of Steel the best. Clean, cohesive, tells a completer story with a lot of punch to it. Birthright's great until he gets his costume, then it's just dull. Secret Origins barely has an interesting story, it's all very rushed and Parasite's origin story being a toxic donut was just too dumb for me.

I didn't like secret origin, not much to it, his reason for saving people is just cause really, he likes it, doesn't go into why he does what he does, he'll superman one goes into it more

I didn't read Birthright, but I liked a lot man of steel and origins, but overall man steel is better.

I like Byrne's much much more. Every Superman origin that has Pa Kent dying to kickstart Clark's sense of humanity or heroism is a piece of shit origin imo.

Byrne's Pa Kent is everything i like about Superman's origin.

He's represented like some sort of jesus figure, a space god who is among the strongest in his universe, but there was a whole planet of people like him, and the only reason they aren't around anymore is that they were retardedly dumb, despite being supposedly advanced.
if his origins justified uperman being for some reason different from all other ryptonians it wouldn't be so dumb.

I think there will be some contradictions because continuity changed a little after Infinite Crisis and the reality punch, but I don't remember anything particularly confusing. Like I don't think the Johns run itself showed any of those early days directly besides mentioning the LoSH adventures still happened (and explaining why Clark didn't remember). But admittedly it's been a while since I read both stories to compare. I also usually don't let continuity stuff bother me that much.

I prefer man of steel, since it curbed back a lot of unnecessary fluff, added great supporting cast (Ma & Pa, Kingpin Luthor), and it put LIMITATIONS on Superman. He wasn't a god on earth anymore, he was just an every day hero who was just really strong, could fly and have super sight and eyebeams.

It was so much more down-to-earth.

I don't really like the lower power level most of the time because it feels like a lazy way to increase the stakes, but it can be a good tool to highlight what makes him unique/important as a hero. We all know it's not really about the powers after all.

I hated the scene in MoS. In secret origin is awesome how Clark runs away and Pakent follows him and hugs him saying-you're my son. In mos feels so cold, even when costner is a good actor.
Besides Pa Kent always says to him in secret origin how he should always help people instead of what kevin kent says.
