There is a context, but even with context it makes no sense. The backgrounds are the worst offender, they never fit the scenes at all, they are just randomly chosen.

The artist is 91 years old and used to draw a lot differently (see >>76988063 and >>76986697 and also this page from the 1960's) so I assume that something happened in the last few years.

Yeah, I've seen the old stuff. It's a real tragedy to see him succumb to something right in front of our eyes.
There was one scene that was supposed to be in a diner but it all took place on the street.
