>>77091599>>77094165This is likely the best online Flash series of all time. It knows what it wants to be and executes all that in a fucking masterful way; everything comes together amazingly from the pacing of the story to the spot-on, atmospheric and emotionally investing storyboarding that almost feels like something out of FLCL.
Plus the message could have been a totally corny and cliche thing you'd expect a Facebook mom to reblog; or worse yet, hateful fuck-you-dad Tumblrshit, if it was made these days by a different person from a different cultural background. But instead of culminating in "stop being racist guys :/" or "[privileged group] are scum" it instead goes for "the love between two individuals matters more than the groups they belong to, the cultural war surrounding their relationship or the intrusive politicization of it by both sides of the issue" and that is fucking wonderful.

Come to think of it, I have no idea why most people completely downplay the huge influence Popeye and other classic Fleischer animation had on Tezuka. The stock "fun fact" is "Did You Know Anime: Tezuka copied Disney :)))))" but his designs look far more inspired by Fleischer than Disney features. He just took Bambi's eyes but beyond that his stuff is way too cartoony and loose to look like most golden-age Disney feature animation.
It's also reductive to say "Disney" as if they're a hivemind, given you can pinpoint a name to one of his biggest single "Disney" influences and that name is "Carl Barks".
