In the dark knight, I was totally rooting for the joker, and if you think about it, he won in the long run.
Nicholson? He was constantly teetering on the line of "lovable asshole, grumpy-grampa" his whole career.
Leto, to me, is neutral ground. I've never seen him in anything where I liked him, never seen him in anything where I hated him, which is why this could go either way.
OR, they could pander to ledger fangirls and give us the same sort-of-lovable Joker again, with the addition of some shit tattoos, which I think is what /co/s' afraid of.
All I'm gonna do is keep an open mind when I walk into the cinema, it's all you really can do with shit like this. And if it's terrible, well, we can wait for the inevitable recasting.
