I got a dilemma, /co/. I plan on going to college for animation and Pratt closes their application on Nov. 1. I'm also applying for Calarts and SVA. Should I apply there and check Calarts, or am I just wasting my time with these schools?

When applying for college, it's best to apply to as many as possible, so you'll have options. There's no guarantee you'll get in too. So apply to them all, and don't let /co/'s sour grapes discourage you.

If you really want to be an animator, move to Korea and join up with one of those teams that does all the animation for Western shows. Might be harder work, but they have god-tier internet and I heard kimchi is pretty good.

Don't waste your time going to school if you have the disciple to work on your own and you'll save a HUGE amount of money for the same result. Just animate now and build from there.

OP, here. I honestly want to go to Calarts, more, but it's literally on the other side of the country. I've been trying to master Flipnote 3D for while, and that's going great, I guess.

Trust me, I started my application the day they opened. I've even been to local life drawing sessions, naked poses and everything. All the models I've drawn from have been female, so that's kinda disappointing.

From one Pratt graduate to another Pratt hopeful, please go to another school for animation. SVA is much better and will cost you considerably less money. Pratt really only cares about their Industrial Deisgn, Interior Design, and (especially) Architectural students. All other fine arts majors can get fucked.
