Are there any comic book writers who aren't utterly ashamed of the medium they work in and who wouldn't sell their own mother for the slightest validation from Hollywood?

You chose the worst example possible. Millar absolutely loves comics. Yes, he's a movie-factory whore, but he's only doing that because it's a shit ton of money. He still loves comics, even if his output isn't always great.

That's a weird premise cause there are fuck tons of writers who are not ASHAMED of the field they're working in. There are, however, fuck ton + one of them who simply don't care about the medim which is just about as cancerous since they're writing a mess that's "supposed" to fit in on tv, in a comic, or in the movie
