- Why dart her, bind her with Kryptonite handcuffs, then immediately release her just to give story exposition and tell her to go back in the kitchen?
- Why was the alien, who was capable of easily beating down a Kryptonian, scared off by a single, human military helicopter?
- How does the military know the aliens are pissed at Kara's mother or that she was responsible for imprisoning them?
- Why would Kara's mother's holo-message assume she would be seeing it for the first time as an adult?
- Why didn't they offer any explanation why the friend-zoned co-worker could make "polymer/composite" capes? Why did she not bring this up with him? Bonus points if you can actually remember his name after watching.
- How is Kara's evil aunt using Superman as a measuring stick for her sister when none of them had any powers on Krypton?
- Why is her heat vision a blue laser?
- Why does she wear glasses if she wasn't Supergirl yet?
- Why isn't anyone reacting properly to anything?
Finally, please stop trying to interject cringeworthy dialogue to combat threats to her percieved empowerment as a female superhero.
Here's an example:
(Kara is getting the tar beat out of her by an alien warrior who easily defeated her earlier in the episode while Hank and her sister watch on a monitor.)
Hank: She's not strong enough.
Sister: Why? Because she's 'just a girl'? It's exactly what we're counting on...
(Kara gets in some good shots, but continues to get outmatched until she overloads his weapon with her heat vision, her chance to do so having nothing to do with him underestimating her or Kara being a girl.)
Also, as an alien who was trading blows with her and coming out on top, why was he more affected by the weapon exploding? It was at arms length from him but it was point blank in her face. She didn't have a scratch and he was down and out.
