I just read one of the Mass Effect minis and it was fucking shit, which made me think: has there ever been a good comic based on a video game? Not counting manga.

The Last of Us comic was pretty good if you're a fan of that game (I know a lot of people on /v/ hate it because it's overhyped). Only real problem I had with the was the fact that the narrative feels somewhat incomplete because it was cut short for the Left Behind DLC.

The first Halo Comic that came out was pretty neat. Especially the story about Sgt. Johnson on 004 and the Flood Infestation on the Covenant Zoo ship.

Never read many comic adaptations, just Mass effect, gears, and halo, and gotta say...they're usually shit.

But the companies do a much better job with actual novels, I thoroughly enjoyed the gears of war books, and the first couple of Mass Effect ones.
