Vince arrived back in town a while back, so we decided to go for drinks to catch up and talk about old times. It was good seeing him, but slightly awkward because of how long it had been.

He’s changed a lot. After High School, he went off to college for some kind of sports scholarship he was offered. He said it’s going well and the people he hangs out with now are great. Gus moved away again. Yeah, left toward the end of year six. It was sad, but I knew that was what his dad wanted to do. Him and his family now live somewhere in Europe. I still get the occasional email, but apart from that, he’s gone.

Mikey and I hung out a lot throughout High School. He eventually met some new people that liked poetry and stuff, and that was when we slowly started drifting apart. When college came around, he said that he couldn’t stay here anymore. Gretchen obviously got a place at some big college, but like the others, doesn’t really keep in touch. I know that one day she’ll invent a cure or something and it’ll help loads of people.

Spinelli stuck around for a while. We actually dated for a bit during High school, but she eventually dumped me for a guy with tattoos and a motorbike. After we were finished, she told me that we’d still remain good friends, but she followed him off to college and we stopped keeping contact.

That was the end of our twenty year friendship. I see her once a year for a reunion, but she’s never really the same like she was when we were ten.
