I'm more into alternate universes than cosmic stuff, I think different earth is a lot more interesting than a made up planet. That being said, cape worlds don't embrace the fact that it IS a different world. They always want to ground things in our world and in our present. Nothing wrong with that but it creates this weird paradox where you have aliens, meta-humans and gods running around and people are still just oblivious to it all.
That's one of the big themes of my super hero/cape universe/multiverse I'm writing. It's how these people and their powers and their struggles would even shape the world around them.
Whole cities have been wiped out in those BIG COMIC EVENTS. Borders have been changed because super villains taking over countries during the Super Villain Wars of 90s. There are products and technology that exist because of these super geniuses.
Just... Have fun with it. Make things different. It's a different world, things happened differently.
