Not really. Jedis are trained to exhaust every other option before resorting to violence. So long as you don't do something stupid like try to fight them then you can run all you want. They won't try to hurt you. Of course it also depends on why they're chasing you.

I have read an explanation about SW on a really cool screenwriting blog, and it basically said that it blew away a whole generation. Before SW there were no "droids", the whole idea of sci-fi was completely different, a whole lot of design elements from the sounds of the lightsabers to the way aliens were portrayed, to the fact that vehicles etc. were full of dings and scratches, that 'rugged' sci-fi look that is so mainstream today didn't exist before SW.

I just can't manage to sit through a whole SW movie but the legacy it left in sci-fi visual media is really enormous.

Those swords can literally cut through anything and can even combat Force powers by their sheer design not to mention all their other utility.

Lightsabers > Blasters so long as you can use the Force. Blaster has no utility in comparison
