Sandman, Ostrander's Spectre and maybe DeMatteis' Spectre. Yes, they're all older than 2011, but they're all removed enough from normal reality that the context shouldn't be too much of a bother.

I've heard some good things about Gotham by Midnight (that's post-New 52) but I haven't checked it out.

Because I can remember and recognize a reference to a superbowl nip slip but not a 1990's blowout superbowl between the 49er's and the broncos (I was born in one year later. If familiarity is comforting then necessarily disfamiliarity is discomfiting and I've chosen to survey the newer titles for that very OBVIOUS reason.
