Anyway, it turns out that there's a secret clan of elite fighters called the Outsiders. They all specialize in ancient weaponry (swords, bows, axes, shields, fists), and do clandestine shit as you do when you're a secret society in comic books. Robert Queen, Green Arrow's father, was the head of the Arrow clan. He staged Ollie's accident, that landed him on the island where he became a hero.
At the same time, he was having a secret affair with Shado, a Japanese assassin. The affair resulted in the birth of Emiko, who was then raised by Komodo, a shape-shifting renegade member of the Outsiders.
So, while she's not on Damian's level, she does have an elite education, as well as top-notch training when it comes to martial arts.
