It honestly wasn't.
The overbearing mother type is definitely not the person who should be dating someone with mother issues. You shouldn't think, "well it's perfect, he misses his mom and she's basically everyone's mom", because that relationship doesn't fulfill anyone's needs. Zuko would project his insecurity into the relationship and that would ruin it because Katara would sense that Zuko was making the relationship out to be something it's not.

Besides, due to those shitty comics fucking everything up, everyone has completely different personalities

Zutara is fun, though it's not chemistry but context that makes it impossible. Romance is partly physical attraction, partly social cohesion, and partly circumstance. The series would have to involve what-ifs and altverses to work, it's not a matter of clashing characters more clashing context.

Man, you are implying that there is a deeper meaing on the popularity os Zutara.

There isnt any.

The only thing that made it popular is:

- Teenage girls saw themselves into Katara, but they didnt wanted to be with the young and skinny Aang, they wanted the prime fanservice material.

- Water/fire dicotomy.

These are the only reasons for this ship be popular.

There was that scene where they were both imprisoned at the crystals in S2 finale.
And then later Zuko and Katara had this hate thing going on when he was part of the Gaang because she'd been the first to believe in him.
Also, Katara treated Aang like a kid for most of the show.

And lets say the truth, any kind of interaction between her and Zuko that had any depht or emotional significance can be twisted to fit shippers agenda.

Really:

Its like that all the time.

Zuko had amotional scenes atached to every main character, but the ships are nowhere strong as this.

BBxRaven only makes sense if you factor opposites attracting. Other than that, it's more of a brother x sister kind of relationship.

StarfirexRobin always seemed like Star was chasing a dude that was JUST NOT INTERESTED. He only got into her when she was offered up for marriage cause he realized he wouldn't be able to hit it. Plus I hated Robin in TT.

Based on the burns it's able to treat and the fact really good water can revive the recently deceased, I'm pretty sure the only reason we don't see basic healing used to stop bleeding is that Avatar isn't a show that lets characters bleed much.

Again, you're massively overkilling when you need to seize control of a person's bloodstream to treat a cut. The whole point of why bloodbending is a black and white matter is that it's a weapon expressly created to control and terrorize other people.

And would be an infallible instant-death attack in Amon's hands if Amon was in a horror series instead of a young adult adventure.
