>>77057723Saw the premier of the first episode with my little brothers.
Red ninja guy is stereotypical main character as fuck. Still watchable, though, not at all bad. Meets other 3 ninjas. They all have a good dynamic going on. White ninja is cliche smart guy, blue and black ninjas original and stereotype-free enough.
Show takes place in what would seem to be an ancient feudal Japan-like setting. Not a lot of technology floating around, and magic is everywhere.
Plot is revealed. Ninjas have to learn ninja magic and use it to fight evil ninja and his army of the undead. Sounds OK. Solid and decent for a fantasy genre cartoon.
Wasn't a fan of it, but pretty decent compared to what I was expecting.
Watched it with them a couple more times after that. Still not a show I'd actively watch, but still pretty decent.
Decide to stop watching it though because I had better shit to do (like watch other cartoons).
Time passes.
At a relatives house for the holidays. Relative has cable. Little brothers are watching the holiday special of Ninjago. Waiting around bored out of my mind, so I decide to sit down and watch it with them again.
Ninjas are on an asteroid fighting alien robot ninjas. Scene where they race with moon buggies. Some kind of bug drains power from their spaceship. They get back to Earth eventually.
Get to this giant metropolis city that has been taken over by "The Overlord", which I guess is what they call the evil ninja nowadays.
I guessed wrong.
Evil ninjas is now a good guy and working with scientists to create a diet pill that will shrink Overlord. Ninja shenanigans go on and they succeed, but white ninja dies.
Also, white ninja was an android all along.
Obviously unfair as I have only seen a few, out of order episodes, but, I'd give it a solid 6, maybe 7 out of 10.
Pic related. The feeling I would have walking into that Starbucks at that time would be comparable to the feeling I did experience watching the holiday special.
