You know what DC has that Marvel doesn't? Iconic, self-contained stories that don't adhere to any sort of continuity.

Actual Graphic Novels.

I'm telling you, once the DCCU has brought forward all of its characters they will be able to make much more kinds of stories than Marvel. AND they can just call "fuck you" to continuity because they will say they are just adapting classic stories.

yea, but Kingdom Come is a beloved story that is consistently recommended and sought after.

Earth X is Marvel attempting to do Kingdom Come (even going so far as to get Alex Ross to design the whole thing) and falling short.

Kay. I dug the clash of SUPER SRS GUYS 80s model grimdark meets silver age style shenanigans (classic costume robin rushing to the rescue, simple, beat up the bad guys, no kill motif, and so on). I think the comic represents an interesting crossroads, and of course reading two undeniable masters of the craft letting loose sans comic code is a delight. What's not to like, I guess?
