We didn't even know what her powers actually were until the end of Second Coming when she just became Rogue plus
And then there was the bullshit with her Lights where she was fucking mind controlling them into being her soldiers and that developed into her mind controlling every mutant she touched including Rogue and a Cuckoo. To the point where Transonic couldn't even follow through on shooting her, Teon was a mindless puppet just telling her she was doing everything right and Kenji was killed because he tried to rebel because he saw she was on the path to villainy.
They had her yell at Xavier and Magneto and tell them both they had done things wrong and she never presented any kind of better alternative.
And then AVX happened and she trained with Spider-Man in K'un-Lun learning to balance buckets of water and fucking "with great power comes great responsibility" and that somehow that made her an Iron Fist with a Chaos Fist who could absorb the chi of a baby dragon.
And after AVX she'd lost her purpose. She was in Cable and X-Force and then X-Force which ended with her becoming this sanctimonious bitch who kicked her father off the team because she thought he was doing things wrong too and now they just can't figure out what to do with her anymore
