Whatever happened to the marathon? When I was a kid, channels would normally advertise playing a show for a few hour straight well in advance.

Now Cartoon Network routinely plays whatever (Teen Titans Go!) for four consecutive hours, day after day after day. Disney XD will play Gravity Falls for nine straight hours on Saturday. This is the norm now, not a special event.
