I used to come here regularly from about 2008 through 2011

Things have certainly changed around the old neighbourhood.

There used to be actual comic discussion, interactive drawthreads, storytimes galore, people were supportive of new comers and supplied them with direction and reading recs, fun participation in things like lantern threads...

Now all I see are company wars, blatant racism and misogyny, CUCK threads for chrissakes, movie threads, power level bitching, the total degradation of this board.

/co/ was love. What happened here?

Not really, of course there's loads more threads now but there was always hype surrounding cbms before the influx.
Plenty of threads, it's just that now people act like sheep and think it's cool to hate cbm threads in /co/.

The way I see it, there's no way to go back, or to ban newfags, or to strictly enforce only positive or fun things that are actually on-topic.

The only thing we can do is drown out the cancer with actual discussion. If people are coming to 4chan to trade idiotic memes and complain about the newest internet boogeyman, we can ignore them or derail the thread with actual discussion until they give up. If you're sad that old traditions have been forgotten, then be the one who replies and adds on to the current good traditions. If you want people who don't read comics gone, then start discussions about things casuals don't know about and respond to them. No one's going to bait you if what you're discussing is out of their depth. If you want clickbait gone then actually use sage or report and don't reply. It's fucking annoying to see 'comic movie director is racist on twitter' threads get to 500 while trying to discuss a scene from a classic comic book or cartoon get me dropped off the pages.

I wish they'd move that shit to /tv/ but they probably never will and will never touch this place again. But all of you can exert an enormously tiny amount of effort to just not reply to shit and to ask questions or discuss in threads that are not shit. This place is still good but we have to be better than that. I hate the shape this site is in, but you can do something about it.
