Overall I'd say the entire series is relatively mediocre, but that's because the movies and CC seasons weigh it down a fuckton.

At some point, they stopped caring about send ups to classic science fiction/sci-fi plots and tried to modernize things too much.

One of the best cartoons ever made. Shame it died so young, but at least it had a sweet, tasteful ending. I would've been really sad if they ruined it with, say, a bunch of shitty movies and 4 horrible extra seasons.

Futurama had tons of oddly dated episodes like the Global Warming episode or the Beck episode, but CC was when it became more blatant.

Yeah, it didn't have a smooth transition from FOX to CC from what I remember.
