And no, it doesn't make sense to keep the exception for Dmitrys since that exception was based on his quality as an artist and status as an in house drawfag when we now have other quality western artists and drawfags among them who are disallowed from posting. Dmitrys exception makes no sense beyond tradition at this point and the irony is his thread on /d/ deflated and died while the one on /aco/ was still hopping last I checked.
If the reasoning behind this recent clusterfuck was just an appeal to tradition then it's odd how Dmitrys, a staple of /d/, slides off board despite his art's ingrained exception. It's a clear indicator that this situation is destroying the whole board's culture despite only nominally banning western art.
