How to get it thinner

No.892368 ViewReplyReportDelete
Dear DIY guys

So I made this machete out of a piece of spring steel that I found. I got the shape just right but the thickness is...well, too thick.

Does anyone know a way to make this thinner? Preferably without heat tempering?

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me out here. I have here a Fluke Hydra series 2620 data logger, well, most of one at least. The front panel is missing, as you can see. All I'm left with is the ribbon I/O cable and the wires from the input terminals. I'd like to try to salvage it, and since I can't find any 2620 front panels for sale anywhere I figure it would be interesting to try and remake it myself. The thing is, I can't find any schematics or wiring diagrams for the front panel. Does anyone have any info that can help me in the right direction?

Have any of y'all done this before? seems like a great way to kill some time, but I have no idea how you would manipulate the diatoms without utterly screwing it up. Any ideas /diy/ ?

Abalone farm

No.891842 ViewReplyReportDelete
I'm trying to build a small scale, amateur abalone tank/farm and can't find any plans or ideas online. I plan on using a 55 gallon plastic drum as the tank. I will have it lying on its side with a hole cut across the whole length of the top side (think basically a barrel cut in two lengthwise). I need to build a frame for it to sit in and that's where I am having trouble. It needs to be about 6 inches off the ground to allow pipe from an upwelling system to be fitted into the bottom of the barrel. Any ideas for a minimalistic, wooden frame I could build to house the tank?

Has anyone here used this stuff to transfer images from paper to canvas?

I was wondering will you be able to bend the canvas after it's done or will it break the image?, or will surface get hard so it would only work for paintings you put on wall.

This is an antique Jersey patter American ax head.
Purchased at a flea market $1.00us.
This ax has hardened steel for the bit and softer and cheaper steel for the cheek and butt.

arduino uno

No.893201 ViewReplyReportDelete
I got an arduino uno and want to make some kind of small robot for fun. I'd like it to be able to react to it's surroundings and such. If it was able to "walk" that'd be nice. What kind of parts/sensors should I look for?

Cnc for guitar

No.893215 ViewReplyReportDelete
Ok so im a guitarist and i really love working on guitars i do pickup swaps coil taps, im also good at doing refrets and fretwork in general. Ive recently come into an inheritance and i want to buy a cnc machine and to start building my own guitars. If i want to make money on this operation being able to cnc mill my own necks bodies and hardware (bridges/tuners) will save me alot of money. How much would something that could do that cost me and how difficult is it to program these things?also any related information to this is apriciated.
