hey /diy/ I need your help, I have been lurking for a long time now and this is the first time that a just cant think of a solution my own so please help me out. I'm making a trigger system for a crossbow and i cant figure out how i should make the upper cut-out (pic related). on the bottom one I could just use a hacksaw but on the upper one I don't think that would work. dimensions are in millimetres or degrees, the part is made out of steel and I don't have a router, I do have a press drill, an angle grinder and most basic hand tools. if you need more info please ask and I provide as soon as possible
Quick question for a project I am about to start. The background is that I run a large club that plays survival games and we occasionally have to use objectives. We currently use rinsed out tea bottles with glow sticks but have a lot of problems with them such as dud glow sticks, people throwing them out thinking they are trash and etc... So I wanted to make a new objective marker. The basics I want to include is it being durable and the ability to have a light that switches colors. This part is easy for me to get, the hard part I don't know what to do with is because I am paranoid I want a security measure for if it gets stolen, preferably a way to track its position within a radius of about a half mile if possible. Whether it's the exact location or just telling me a general direction, I want a method to keep track of them. I don't know what to search or look into learning about because all I get so far is links to third party trackers for a monthly fee and are typically excessive. I think RfID's sound like the way to go but was hoping for some help from an actual person because I still don't understand it all. Any input would be appreciated.
just bought a foreclosure. i hope to live in it for a year then rent it. I'm looking for a good looking solution that is also idiot proof for a long time.
This is not a photo of my window but the exact same situation. The bottom sill is moldy and soft. There is no fan in the bathroom. I would indeed like to have a conversation with the person who thought this up. I presume its from the water inside but I haven't out it coming from outside.
Would the correct fix be to put in some pvc board on the bottom sill, caulk it and call it a day? The only other solution I can think of are those weird plastic floor transition pieces? I am willing to pay more for a more foolproof solution.
And no I haven't really pulled any boards to see the extent of the damage yet.
What the hell should I use this shelf for? It's really thin (book for scale) and one meter long. I found two of these in my new room and I think it's just a waste of space, do you have any ideas about its purpose?
I plan to build a bow. I have a log of ash tree (I think this is the good name in english). I have cut the log this spring, so it has still not dried out. My question : should I cut the log before let the wood dry or after ? The log is about 2m long by 13 cm of diameter (6 feet long by 5 inch of diameter). Thx
zup diy I iz a moran that cannut spelz. i wantz to do something that any moran could do if I only could figure out how to use google, instead I will insist on doing something way more difficult than my apparent skillz indicate I can do.
please hold my hand and walk me through every little step and tell me exactly what to do so that later I can claim I built something all by my widdle wonesome!
I don't have tools, and my I was edumacated in a california/chicago/new york schools system that valued my feels over my abilities so I will get butthurt faster than the speed of lite.
also I don't want to put any effort in to this what-so-ever.
