Hi, /diy/, I'm in need of some electronics advice. I am a complete beginner, and I can't stress that enough. A few years back I bought a bunch of resistors, white LEDs and some copper/normal wire, switches and that sorta thing (pictured) so my friend can walk me through a project but it never got off the ground.

Now I want to make this small armature for a "horseshoe" lamp on top of my desk on the wall, so I can have plenty of strong light from multiple directions for other DIY projects and miniature painting.

I've the stuff, I'm reading up on things and me and a friend even drew up simple scehmatics and how it'll be built. Thing is... it's been so long, I can't remember the resistance, voltage or anything of both the resistors or the LEDs.

Is there any way to find this out, perhaps by markings or tests that won't fry the fucking things? If it's any help, the resistors have a gold, black, brown and then green band of apparently varied (slightly) thickness. Final aim is to also connect the setup to the mains socket and the flick switch for ON/OFF and the two press switches (maybe) to turn on one side only for things like painting with directional light.

Metallic floors project

Hello DIY, I am in the process of remodeling the basement. Right now I'm thinking of doing a metallic floor. I've looked at videos online over the process and it seems do-able. I wonder that advice do you guys have on painting concrete floors?

Hi /diy/!
How do I create my own 2D Hologram and print it on common paper? What equipment do I need?

As far as I know now I will need vector Graphics and its an imprint. There seem to be different processes but unfortunately it's very hard to find information about this topic on the internet.

Hello /diy/

It's /g/ here with a rather simple and stupid question.
So I own a htc one m8 which is a phone that's famous for it's shit camera.
I was looking at a website (http://www.etradesupply.com/) which is selling phone part.
Because of pure curiosity I checked out the htc one m9 section, the m9 has a better camera module and it made me think about upgrading my phones module to the m9's. They look pretty similar.
Android is open source, and i've been modding my phone for a while now. It shouldn't be hard to get it working once it's in there properly.
So, What do you guys think ?
Is there any way I could check if they are compatible ?
Thanks for helping me guys.

Hello /diy/ I'm looking at getting a drill press. I don't need a big expensive stand up model, as I'll probably just be using it for light gun smithing work. Drilling out rivets and such. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations? I've been liking at the skil 3320-01. It's seems perfect for my needs. But, I like to do thourough research before I buy, and I've always trusted you all.
