I'm considering building an underground storage room/bunker on some of my land, what's the best method of doing so?

Ecommerce

No.892318 ViewReplyReportDelete
Hey, guys I've been working for this guy who has opened a successful ecommerce business. I've learned a lot from him since I was doing the shipping and receiving. Now its time for me to try to start one up myself. I got together a couple of friends some pitching money/some pitching in time to start up our own ecommerce business. We have around $2,000.00 to put into the product + some extra money to pay for the paperwork. We are willing to put more if the business goes well. So far: +I've been looking into software to help me find and analyze products. We wanted to go into the health section and sell on Amazon. + We've found a product that doesn't have any sellers other than the manufacturer. +We've found a distributor whose willing to sell to us in bulk for this particular start up item.
Now the problem, is that I was starting to look up laws against selling on Amazon and it started to worry me. Even the distributor isn't selling (only the manufacturer is). am not sure where to go about finding out if this will be a problem for us or not. This looks like the perfect start up item, and it would really suck if I had to find somewhere else.
Also I saw in an article that in order to sell as new you would need to get permission from the manufacturer and maybe sign a contract?
I am still new to this if I could get some pointers that would be great. Best

Hi /diy/,

Can anyone assist in how to make a vacuum filtration device from materials and tubing, such as PVC, found at a store like home depot?

I'm attempting a home extraction of capsaicin (the spicy molecule) from a batch of habenero peppers.

I planned on using a simple T joint which would attach to my water spicket in my backyard, I just basically need a use able design for the vacuum flask, as it is the filtrate I'm keeping and not the solids.

Aquaponics Control

No.891192 ViewReplyReportDelete
Hey /diy/
Some friends and I have been making an aquaponic system using two 1000L ibc tanks similar to in pic with sligth differences like the growing area is divided into two areas a larger greenhouse encased area and smaller outdoor. We plan on growing edible trout within them and hopefully automating the entire system. being a computer engineering student I am left with the arduous task of making a control system.. What I hope to achieve is have it it monitor the waters nutritents add have some balancers and stuff that can be injected if e.g ph gets too high and control O2 levels flow etc if anyone has farmed fish before it would be great to know what sorts of things to keep an eye on and what sort of sensors I should use. Unfortunately I can't seem to find too much about. Any help with general advice would be greatly appreciated. budget is relatively cheap. Currently have an spare Raspberry Pi or a Pic 40 Micro that I can use

been reading some things on the internet for making a flowhood.

I am a science DIY'er. I really would like to start some micropropagation at home, but one of the requirements is a genuine flowhood.

A flowhood is basically air pushed through a hepa filter. It ensures that the air around your sterile media containers is free of contaminations.

Has anyone on /diy/ ever built a flowhood? How would you do this? I checked google and read some of the online guides, but none of them seem to really point me in the right direction.

So what do you think /diy/?

Self-sufficiency

No.890329 ViewReplyReportDelete
I have two years to gather as much knowledge as I can, so I can be self-sufficient: Build my own home, gather my own food and live by myself.

I'm 19 years old and currently living in South America, I don't know where I'm going yet, probably somewhere hot.

Where should I start? Give me books, documentaries, or anything you have. I will take practical courses too if its needed.

in miniature

I am looking for practical info on how to replicate quantum levitation on a smaller scale than the usual demos. i would like to use a sapphire disc several mm in diameter. Has anyone scratch built a setup for for this in any scale?

I can get liquid nitrogen, sapphire/ruby disks to my own specs plus whatever magnets I can find on the internet. I'm still unsure whether or not i need some type of cupric oxide coating on the jewel, if so I can also electroform that on.
