DIY Cosplay/Costumes/Armor Thread

I'm new here, but I figured this is as good a place as any to ask about some techniques regarding making a Mando Cosplay.

I've already cast a helm from a design I made, but I need to stiffen it and get rid of the lumpy bits so as to create a smooth dome. (pic related)

neckst.

I want to make foam armour that's also layered with recycled PETE or PET (for extra gloss and durability).

feel free to add other cosplay/custom armor

I've found this lighter today. But I've got a problem, I've put a gas in it, i see the spark, I can hear the gas leaving lighter but there is no flame. Why? I want to repair it, cause lighters like this one are really rarely seen in my country.

I wanted to make a battery-powered lamp. Seemed so simple, right?

Then after buying some lamp wire, some D cell batteries and a bulb, I noticed that my bulb uses 120v and a D cell only outputs 1.5v

Did I dun goofed? Is it even feasible to power a 40-60w light bulb with a (relatively) small power supply?

Does anyone share my frustration? I love diy but I have this massive hang-up where I only learn when it comes to practical application. I need a drawstring bag, costume or the like? I'll sew it no problem. But when I look at the big drawer full of cloth and scrap I collected neatly stored I get these idea of what I could make... and nothing comes to mind. Complete and utter creative block. If I do manage to think of something, it'll just be whacked out home decor (google turns up nothing but that for "fun projects") I don't feel the drive to do. Same thing with most other DIY hobbies, not just sewing.

Currently I'm looking at a buncha LEDs, resistors, push-switches and On/OFF switches and a desire to make something cool or nifty with them, but I haven't come up with anything I could USE at all. I'm all about the practical, and that's cancerous in a way because once you finish, you don't practice or further your skill/craft.

On a side note, also terrible because I kinda want to start making random shit that people might buy at a stall in markets. No set inventory, just all kindsa shit I have learned to make to the best of my abilities.

Does anybody share my feels? Have any advice?

Is "copper" spray paint conductive enough to function as a base for electroplating copper on plastic (i.e: for plating through holes) ? Is it conductive at all?
