ex /pol/fag here...I used to lurk here a lot but I was inspired to come back after seeing these guys on a kickstarter of all places

I watched the polish doctor man's ted talks and videos and I like the idea except for the sjw shit, but one thing that really botheredme was how slow this team was going on prototyping, I mean I don't know if tehy are doing it full time, which i'd imagine they would be seeing as they recieve donations and such but their progress seems to be slow to stagnant since 2011

I think /diy/kes could probably achieve their goal better than they could...

Any ideas how to attach centre caps to my wheel more securely than how it's meant to work?

Some sort of magnet or screw system?

The cap fits on, but even after bending the taps in I don't trust it, and the stud bolts stick out too far and kind of restrict how far onto the lug nuts it can grip.

reverb unit

No.894949 ViewReplyReportDelete
Hey everyone. Hoping I can get some good tech savys out here. I am getting a 70's Fender FR 1000 solid state reverb unit (from guitar center) and I've done some research on it. It has a 2 prong power cord..... Would this affect the reverb unit as bad as 2 prongs do to guitar amps? Would the 2 prong cause the reverb unit to shock me and risk the unit to easily get damaged? Anyone has any experience with this unit?

Silicone mask stuff

No.894941 ViewReplyReportDelete
Hej hej

I want to try creating a silicone mask or two and was looking to get some info from people who know a little more than me.

I'm looking at the more professional products not the stuff at the local craft store but I'm finding it hard as the professional products seem to have random names and I have no idea if said product is actually what I need.

1. Basic list of materials for a first try (product names)
2. Where is a good online stores for supplies (pref. in EU somewhere)
3. Good location to find tutorials and learning materials
4. Boards or what not to reach out to the mask making community

I have created busts before and done the sculpting on them so I have some idea about those steps but now I want to make molds from my sculpts so I can wear them as costumes (well give it a try and see how it goes)

Thanks All

How many cats do I need to get about 20-30 squirrels out of my attic?

My cat has never been outside before and when I pushed her fat ass up there a squirrel chased her down

I don't know much about circuitry and I'm looking to replace some ICs/op amps in a 1979 reel to reel. I've posted about this before but I'm still confused about it.

So here is the layout of what is called the analog torque board. IC 29 is labeled as "7402" in the schematic. The IC that is actually in the reel to reel is labeled "sn7402N". If I want to replace that IC, do I need to find the exact same one, or do I just need one with 7402 in the name?

Another example is one in the schematic that is labeled "081". If the one that is actually there says "TL081CP", would I be able to replace that one with a "TL081GP"?

The reel to reel is pretty old and many of the parts are obsolete, so finding the exact part is pretty difficult. Is it unnecessary to be that exact about it?

So /diy/, some friends and me started playing Catan + player ampliation and is awesome as fuck. The problem is that we are a lot of people so we need another player ampliation but buying another will not even work (as we need more terrain hexagons and shit than before).

The idea is to make our Catan + 2 player ampliation but first we need to make the base game first.

Any of you did this before? Any recommendation or advise?

We plan to make the figures with a 3d printer but we don't know how to make cool looking (and durable) cards and terrain hexagons.

Any feedback or idea will be appreciated.
