Not fixable without replacing the floor board.

Poorfag options:
-Seal over the char with some high-quality urethane varnish. Use many thin coats, until it fills the hole. Say it "adds character."
-Dig out the char, fill it with putty, then varnish it.
-Note: Both of the above options will fail in time, as the constant motion of the floorboards will make the plug work itself out of the hole eventually.
-Get a rug.

It's actually in a dorm I'm leaving soon, so l wanted to somehow make it look less conspicuous so they'll overlook it when they come to inspect the room. One of the first two will probably work for that.

Since it's a rental issue, i'd sand down to the bottom of the burn, and then work out gradually until it's not a visually distinct dip. Then varnish.

sand, wood filler. leave it at that. you only need to pass an inspection. as long as your wood filler plug matches, it'll just look like a standard shittily patched lump in floor. inspector wont notice. it just needs to pass a casual glance.

Sand all that black shit off and buy a small can of Minwax stain at home depot.

Look for a color called Golden Oak. And remember that's the Minwax brand.

Rub that shit in the spot.

I'd leave it just stained; don't bother with any lacquer or varnish---it will just make a mess and draw more attention to the spot.

You don't want to fix it as much as you want to hide it.

Better not. That looks like laminate flooring, like a plywood keep the repair area small. grind out the burnt area, fill with stainable putty block sand it flush carefully and lightly re-stain to match borrow the floor buffer, wax it.

The putty and varnish method will work fine. We have to inspect hundreds of rooms, likely don't have photo reference, and definitely won't remember the room from last year's inspection.
