hi all, original fan filter contributor here, what
>>891701 said is true, the box fan does not provide enough air flow under pressure so the filter will be quite ineffective after a while (several months). The solution would be to use a new filter when it is just over half full.
The best solution is (if you have the money) is actually use one of those in-line fan filters for hydroponics/grow boxes, they are built to operate under pressure and they have specially made clinical shaped filters available, however they are carbon filters not HEPA or other types so they will not filter out viruses or other microscopic stuff BUT if your intent is just to reduce dust, then it is the best solution.
