>>890291>A friend of mine said the same about my tracks, that they need a breakdownBe careful about the advice of friends. I
>>890277 have dabbled in some analogue based dark ambient in duet with a friend (pic related, the filth pit) and I found a lot of well meaning friends would tell us what they wanted to hear, not necessarily something that would enhance our music. End of the day this is your art to craft as you feel fit. It is clear that some thought went into that musical composition, I'm sure if you felt a drop or breakdown was needed you would have put it in there. Certainly take their advice onboard for future projects, but once you have worked a track to a point where you feel it says what you want it to say, mix that shit to a master and leave it alone. Doubt is a killer, especially when it's being introduced by third parties. Took us a while to learn that, and cost us a lot of good tracks to overworking.
I'm not saying ignore all advice, especially that which comes from close friends who know you personally and understand both your character and how you express, but unless one of your friends happens to be Rick Ruben, always take it with a pinch of salt.
