This seems really stupid, /diy/, but for the life of me, I can never seem to get high quality, non-morphed 2x4s or the like from stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. I will sit there, look at them from all angles, place them on the ground and see if they're flush, measure twice, cut once, but something is always off. My butt joints seem to be OK most of the time, but nothing ever seems to fit like a glove. Is there something I should be looking for to ensure higher quality wood?
