>>892704I personally recommend a circle skirt with very few ruffles as it hangs, there is a formula out there to determine how "ruffly " a circle skirt will end up being based on your waist measurement as the diameter or partial diameter of a circle
I can explain it if you want but the short answer is I recommend not doing a full 1:1 circle skirt as it'll look really busy and try to aim for a line that is closer to an A-line

Love nautical toile though--good find
Mariners used to do a type of micro - macrame with the canvas from sails and other ship-y purposes to prettify their vessels called MacNamara Lace. Check it out! It looks overwhelmingly complicated and delicate --ok it is -- but if you pull it off you can have a stunning trim that would be a wonderful conversation piece and also faithful to the seam.
Also a red print....with brass or gold buttons??
Oh I'm just in ecstacies thinking about it lol
