Every couple weeks I have another one of these cans. Sometimes I use them to germinate seeds before planting outside, a few I use to keep odd screws and such. Height is 14 cm, diameter 8.5 cm. Volume ~ .750ml

Just for kicks I want to make a coffee mug out of one. I was thinking first thing would be to coat exposed metal since it rusts. Is there a coating that I could cover the inside with that wouldn't peel / dilute into the coffee over time? I'm guessing no, doesn't seem very healthy.

Is there a material that I could mold into the interior that isn't too thick and would hold liquid without leaking chemicals/stuff into the liquid? I'd like it to have at least half a liter capacity after lining the inside.

Pic is said object.
