Anyone have any experience with making something similar to these? I love the idea but don't love the $400-500 price tag.
I figure it can't be too hard to make, but I also have zero experience building stuff like this. Get some wood, foam, a lock, and something to keep it from slamming open

why do you need a military carbine in your living room

i mean I'm all for self reliance and self defense, but couldn't your just hang a shotgun over your mantle?

are you a retired spy who can't leave the life behind?

do your old contacts at Langley keep asking for one last favor? did you get a burn notice? are their loose ends?

You're confusing me with Op.
My problem is with the idea of storing loaded fire arms in sock draws.

However if op want to build a custom case for his weapons I'd encourage him as building stuff is fun.

It is a bad idea, as it gets gun oil all over my socks.

I keep it the nightstand drawer, instead. Far more handy and I don't have to worry about getting lint in my Webley.

Tablesaw. Router. Bandsaw. Hammer. Power drill. Various bits and blades. And maybe power planer.

Some plywood and plywood banding.

Sure if you have all these tools. You could indeed make one for a lot less.
