What's the best way to minimize asbestos exposure when splicing an asbestos-insulated wire?
I've taken the den in my basement down to studs, and uncovered this god awful splice. The wire runs to my detached garage, buried 4ft and encased in concrete in some parts, so simply replacing it isn't really an option.
I'm running a new circuit up to this point, where I'll join the two in a junction box, but I'd rather not release asbestos if at all possible.
